MRO Inventory Insight Solution
Global One Logistics has partnered with a National Supplier to deploy our MRO Inventory Insight Solution Service to reduce cost and improve productivity. The new value-added service provides two options to MRO buyers: The first is managed by the customer; the second, by Global One Logistics.
With the first option, Global One provides the customer with tools to manage inventory. "Customers have good intentions, but they don't always have the systems to be able to manage indirect materials effectively", says Andrew Jackson, director of business development at Global one Logistics. "So we give them a software package, a scanner and a label printer that enables them to categorize all their products, label them and establish parameters for restocking or refilling."
For the second option, Global One Logistics and personnel from our supplier team arrive onsite and do the work for the customer. They collect data on products the customer uses. If Global One doesn't carry a given item among the thousands of MRO and safety product offered, they will source the item based on the customer’s specifications.
As part of the initial inventory assessment, we help customer isolate critical spares and develop plans that minimize carrying cost. We also help track obsolescence and reduce redundancies across all phases of inventory.
Our customer chooses which items to carry. "We inventory the items, generate the labels and organize the tool crib or stock room, establishing minimum and maximum quantities, for example, a supply of bolts runs low, we know what to order." With the software, customers approve orders, monitor usage and generate reports. Its continuous replenishment completely managed by Global One logistics.
